Norwegian Biodiversity and Genomics Conference 2024

Welcome to the Norwegian Biodiversity and Genomics Conference 2024 website. Here you can view a detailed program, abstracts and info regarding the conference that took place 11th and 12th of April at Forskningsparken, Oslo.

The Earth BioGenome Project Norway (EBP-Nor) held its annual conference from April 11. to 12., 2024. The conference was open to all, and we encouraged anyone interested in genomics and biodiversity research to  participate. Thank you to all 100 participants from 24 institutes and 12 different nations for being a part of this years EBP-Nor conference!

The three days (8 to 10 April) before the conference, 30 participants had the the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills through engaging workshops led by our EBP-Nor members. The workshops focused on genome assembly, validation and curation, genome annotation, and comparative genomics. You can view the workshop program at out GitHub site

The conference itself focused on scientific discussion and innovation. We had invited four keynote speakers to share their research with us: Aiofe McLysaght (Trinity College Dublin), Alexander Suh (Leibniz Institute for the Analyses of Biodiversity Change), Lene Lange (Company founder and owner of LL-Bioeconomy) and Olga Vinnere Petterson (Uppsala University). In addition, 21 conference participants shared their work on biodiversity and/or genomics through contributed talks.

Workshop: 08.04 - 10.04 2024 Blindern, University of Oslo

Conference: 11.04 - 12.04 2024 Forskningsparken 21, Venue Forum , Oslo
